About William

I'm William, a coach from France, in BC for 2 years. I'm doing many jobs here in Vancouver, including being a trainer in a Cross Training gym. I have a coaching certification from France, a Cross Training Level 1, and years of experience. I started sport with martial arts, and to prepare for my competitions, I started getting more and more involved in cross training, functional body workouts, calisthenics, for the purpose of optimizing my body for the fights. From there I also started to get into climbing and parkour, and I became obsessed with the idea of becoming a master of my body in the space, and how to be as efficient as possible. I was upset seeing how functional is a little kid, who can run, climb things, crawl on the floor, in a short period of time without being tired, and how we're losing that when we're growing up. The human body is capable of amazing things, and I wanted to become a master of its potential. I've always been into sharing and teaching. I worked with kids in schools, with teenagers, with adults, with seniors, and I always enjoyed it. My other jobs here are all linked to teaching and sharing: I'm an axe throwing/archery/sword fighting instructor; and a guide.

No equipment is needed for my workouts, we can find everything we need outside! The only equipment required is YOUR BODY. Together we will try to learn how to master it through functional cross training and calisthenics exercises. The objective of functional training is to make your everyday life easier, with multi-joint movements that will reinforce your body in a global manner. No matter your fitness level or your objectives, I've been used to working with people of all ages from kids to seniors, I'm totally adaptable. - Beginner who just wants to get in shape, gain some strength, or lose some weight maybe? Who wants to finally do some pull-ups? FINE. - Intermediate who wants to stay in shape? FINE - Advanced who wants to learn some cool stuff like the muscle up or the front lever? FINE If you have some equipment and desire to be trained at home, that's also possible. You don't want to face the cold or the rain, but you have nothing at home? Okay, I won't teach how to do a pull-up without a bar, but no worries, I can make your body stronger with good conditioning. With just your body and a floor, I can make you sweat, efficiently, for the purpose of making your body functional. Classes will last an hour, with the first 10 minutes dedicated to a deep warm-up to avoid any injuries. The last 5 minutes will be used to cool down the body, slow down the heartbeats and relax the muscles. During the main 45 minutes, we will learn the movements, how to do it properly, their technique, and do the workout itself, which can be a tabata, a circuit training, or specific movements, depending on your objectives.
